Can I wear a white dress for a civil ceremony?
Yes, a white or cream dress is a lovely choice for a civil ceremony. A tulle style gives a more festive look, while a jacquard dress or a style with taffeta details is a more understated choice.
Can I wear a white dress as a wedding guest?
Unless the invitation says otherwise, guests are usually advised to choose another colour so that white stays the bride's. A white dress is a good choice for a milestone birthday, a summer celebration or a photo shoot.
Is a white dress see-through?
It depends on the style and the fabric – for some dresses the description mentions a lining. If you're unsure about a particular style, write to us and we'll advise you.
Can I return a dress?
Yes – by law, you can return the dress within 14 days of receiving it. Just remember that it must be unworn, in good condition and keep its original appearance. Dresses sewn to individual measurements or in a colour not offered in the catalogue cannot be returned.

Puffed sleeves, gathered bands and jacquard patterns – from more elaborate styles to more understated ones. Some dresses have short sleeves that cover the shoulders, others longer sheer sleeves, so it's easy to find a style for a summer celebration or a cooler evening. The photos of each style show the sleeves and the skirt best.

Matching styles for mother and daughter

Some of our women's dresses come in a "Mini" version for girls, so you can subtly coordinate your outfit with your daughter's for a family celebration or photo shoot. Sizes and sewing

Each style shows its size and the height it is made for, so the length suits your height. The size chart gives the chest and hip measurements and the length of the dress. If you can't find the right size, we can also sew to your measurements – please get in touch before you order.

We sew each dress once you order, usually within 2–5 working days; you'll find the exact making time with each style.
